Some people think all corn is the same except for different maturities and different genetically engineered traits but most people realize there are many more differences in corn hybrids that make them unique.
The corn hybrid line up of King Fisher and RedTail that we offer have been developed specifically for livestock feeding qualities. Characteristics of our hybrids include among other things: high fiber digestibility which allow cows to eat more, flex which allows for high yields with less plants, softer starch which allows cows to digest and get more energy out of the grain and disease resistance which protects both yield and quality.
We do not stop with the typical selections in our hybrid line up though. King’s AgriSeeds also offers some unique, specialty hybrids.
Male Sterile Corn: KingFisher 59S30 is a male sterile hybrid that will not produce any grain when isolated from other (fertile) corn. This is ideal for farms in niche markets that are grain free. It is a tall hybrid that will have high sugar content and good digestibility suitable for silage and grazing. The plant will have a unique red color in the fall as sugars accumulate.
High Oil Corn: KingFisher will be introducing two newly released ultra-hybrids that have significantly higher oil content in the grain which translates into more energy. They can be mixed with a standard hybrid to increase the oil content of the whole crop or used as a stand-alone corn that will have noticeably higher energy from the fat. These hybrids may have a particularly valuable place on an organic operation where energy and fat in feeds can be limited.
